Sam Schenck

Sam Schenck first stepped onto a yoga mat during breaks from her dance training, searching for a way to stay in shape. What made her stay was the contrast - unlike dance, yoga didn’t demand perfection from an outside eye. Instead, it gave her something that felt completely her own. With a BFA in Dance, Sam has studied the body and its mechanics intently, and she brings that depth of knowledge to her teaching, alongside her 200-hour yoga teacher certification and 450-hour classical Pilates certification. Students can expect a powerful yet soft space, full of choice, honesty, and permission to listen inward.

Off the mat, Sam is always creating - crocheting, throwing clay, or sewing (a skill her mom insisted on when Sam once dreamed of competing on Project Runway). For her, Grace & Glory Yoga is a place to arrive exactly as she is, and she hopes her students always feel the same.

Something she wants students to know:

  • That we are here for you to show up in whatever state you’re in and you can come and sit on your mat and not move once and you will have left doing yoga.
