Nick wants you in the studio so you can practice where it matters most: outside of the studio.
Nick Barrett came to yoga looking for a new way to stay active, but what he found was a practice that shifted his whole life. A 200-hour RYT trained in Power Yoga and Vinyasa Krama, Nick’s teaching is rooted in the Krishnamacharya lineage and shaped by a lifetime of skateboarding, curiosity, and creative expression. His classes are dynamic and grounded - strong, fiery sequences balanced with philosophy and practical tools you can take off the mat. Nick knows how to stay in the chaos until the chaos becomes calm. A skateboarder-turned-yoga teacher, a man in long-term recovery, and a Life Skills Coach for youth .
Nick brings yoga out of the studio to where it’s needed most: high school classrooms, the half-pipe, at home with his two sons, being walked by his dog Kevin (and not the other way around), and in the digital space as the yoga meme and content creator @patanjalol. His gig by day, in addition to this all, is being in management at a local casino, bringing presence and clarity into one of the most high-stakes environments around.
Working primarily with folks in substance use disorder recovery and teens who need support with behavior modification and self-regulation, Nick meets people right where they are, offering practical tools to shift their focus, their energy, and their outcomes.
When he’s not in the studio, Nick is with his wife and kids, skating, or digging into the “why” behind pretty much everything.
Dad jokes, yoga memes, serious studentship - Nick strikes the balance of humor and groundedness. He reminds us all that we do this work so we can actually enjoy our lives by simply being in the experience of it all. The ride is short, make it count.
