Level Two Yin Yoga Immersion
* Please note those who would like to participate do not need level 1 as a prerequisite. Our first evening will re-cap level 1.* Those who take this weekend course will have the ability to teach yin yoga afterward. This course can also simply be an immersive experience of yin yoga.
Join Grace & Glory for our Yin Yoga Teacher Training Level 2 with Alice Riccardi from Thursday, March 6th to Sunday, March 9th.
Schedule
Thursday 6-9pm
Friday 6-9pm
Saturday 9-6pm
Sunday 9-6pm
The practice of Yin yoga “exercises” our mindful awareness muscle, increasing our capacity to be calm and present in the moment. A steady Yin yoga practice in balance with Baptiste Power Yoga amplifies our experience of fluidity and stability not only in our power yoga practice but in all aspects of our daily life.
A Yin yoga practice supports and nurtures the Yin aspects of the body - connective tissue, ligaments and tendons - as well as enhancing and aligning the more subtle aspects of the body’s internal energy as it relates to Traditional Chinese medicine and Meridian Theory.
The practice and teaching of Yin yoga is an experiential process similar to that of Power Yoga. The subtle and nuanced aspects of a Yin practice and its teaching are revealed with consistent discipline. Just as we can advance and become seasoned practitioners of power yoga, so is true of our yin yoga practice and teaching.
In this level 2 training, we will explore how to practice and teach Yin yoga based on our own experience of the practice as well as exploring new ideas of presentation for our students.
Topics explored:
- How to move from an “instruction” based teaching to a creative act.
- What to say as well as “who” to be when you let go of your script.
- What lesson(s) does our Yin yoga practice have to offer us off the mat as well as on it?
- Who are we really when we are teaching Yin Yoga and how do the 3 Themes of Baptiste Yoga support the next level of both practice and teaching?
This Yin Yoga Level 2 Teacher Training is for all levels of experience, whether you be a student, a teacher or both! Basic elements of the Yin Yoga discipline and its teaching will be presented on Thursday evening, the first night of the training, to serve as a foundation and springboard for the rest of the weekend.
